CIRQUE du GOLD

The “Gold Standard” is how the Long Boat Key’s Black Tie Editors reviewed the 2012 GOING FOR THE GOLD:  Cirque du Gold event.

Chairs: Debbie Dannheisser; Denise Mei; and Dawn Epstein and dozens of volunteers labored on this elaborate event for a year turning the Berlin Branch into Cirque du Soleil bliss complete with mimes, circus characters, trapeze artists that included members of the Wallenda family.

This year’s event marked the 21st anniversary of GOING FOR THE GOLD, a fun event with ever-changing themes.  More than 400 guests enjoyed bidding on live and silent auction items valued at over $240,000 and dined on superb food and refreshment provided by Michael’s on East.

The $450,000 raised this year brings the total dollars raised from this event to over $7.5 million with proceeds funding Y programs and services focused on at-risk kids.
