Volunteer at the Y

You can make a difference

Volunteer recruitment is an ongoing process in which The Sarasota Y engages more than 1,000 volunteers each year. Because promoting volunteerism is a significant component of our Y’s philosophy to strengthen the foundation of community, employees have a variety of opportunities to contribute individually or as part of a Corporate Team at our Y:

*serve on boards and committees

*help children become better readers through Y-READS! To become a reading tutor contact Karen Grybek, Program Coordinator at 941-365-0056 x127

*You can change a child's life by giving one hour, once a week, on the school campus, during the school day. Each volunteer is trained and given a one on one overview of the program. Each volunteer is background screened and finger printed. Become a Y Mentor today! Contact Kathy Chamberlain, Director Y Mentors at 941-468-7582
